We have all taken many first steps in our lives. Everything that is new is a first step.   As a child we learn to stand up and walk, we go to school, we make friends, we get a job and then a career.  Unfortunately, some of our first steps lead us into a life of destruction, drinking, drugs, pornography, to name a few.  The first time you do something will put you on one of two paths.  The bible says that broad is the way to destruction and narrow is the path unto righteousness (Mathew7:13-14).

As a parent it is our responsibility to watch over our children as they take these first steps.  Our guidance can be the difference between success and failure.  We are there to help and encourage their growth and foster their relationship with the Lord.  It is our duty.  No matter how hard we try, they will end up in situations where they must decide which step is for them to take.  We must always be there for them, no matter the first steps they have taken.  The world says that you can never go back but with Jesus you can have a new start.  Jesus will never leave or forsake you (Hebrew 13:5).

Jesus has been there with you from the beginning.  In your mother’s womb, He was there.  Your first breath, He was there.  When you could only crawl, He was there.  Your first step as an infant, He was there.  First day of school, He was there.  Your first cigarette, drink or drug, He was there.  You see He has been there watching from the beginning.  The first step of that new start is now.  Take the step towards Him.  1st Chronicles 28:9 tells us if we seek the Lord, He will be found by us.   Your seeking begins with your next first step.

Today, this very second can change the course of your life for eternity.  Do not worry about all the other first steps you have taken, the successes or the failures.  There is only one way and that is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  Your first step on the road of salvation begins with a simple prayer.  If you are serious about finding yourself and truly open to letting God change you then say this prayer.

“Lord Jesus, I am a sinner.  I have taken many wrong first steps.  I stand before you today and ask you to come into my heart and live.  To save me and to be my personal savior.  Lord, I repent for my sins, and I ask you to forgive me and wash me clean with your atoning blood.  Thank you, Lord Jesus.  Amen”

You have now taken the first step to a better future.  If you prayed that prayer today and you need help with the next step.  Please reach out to us at Foundation Ministries, we would love to hear your testimony and assist you on your journey.
